Abu Dhabi University Partners With ExxonMobil To Advance STEM Innovation And Empower Future Leaders In The UAE

In line with UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031, Abu Dhabi University (ADU)has renewed the strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Exxon (Al Khalij) Inc. (ExxonMobil).This partnership focuses on enhancing inclusivity and innovation in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce in the UAE, with ExxonMobil sponsoring scholarships for ADU’s College of Engineering students pursuing STEM and artificial intelligence (AI) degrees.

The MoU was signed by Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU and Mr. Mohammed Alamin, President of ExxonMobil UAE, at ADU’s main campus in the presence of distinguished representatives from both organizations.

Through this collaboration, ADU and ExxonMobil seek to create transformative opportunities for students, by combining academic and industry expertise. The MoU focuses on developing innovative academic programs tailored to ever-changing market needs, facilitating student exchange initiatives and training programs, as well as providing access to advanced learning resources, and offering credit transfer opportunities. In addition tohosting enriching extracurricular and social activities designed to foster leadership and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff members.

Mohammed Alamin, President of ExxonMobil UAE, said: “At ExxonMobil, education is the fundamental building block of individual opportunity and economic growth with STEM skills, in particular, being vital as we build the future pipeline of engineers and scientists. With that, we are extremely proud of our ongoing partnership with Abu Dhabi University, known to be one of the leading educational institutions in the UAE, and of our support in offering scholarships to its engineering students to pursue their education in STEM, Robotics, and AI. We have added a new primary focus to the partnership, which is scholarships in Robotics and AI, as a way of supporting the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in AI by 2031.”

Both parties are dedicated to supporting women’s empowerment initiatives and enabling students from diverse financial backgrounds to thrive in their educational journey, as well as accelerate the UAE’s educational ecosystem.
