The NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Art Gallery’s spring exhibition is running until Sunday, June 4, making these the final days to visit the only constant. A meditation on our complicated notions of paradise and utopia, the show includes works by artists Tarek Al-Ghoussein, Patty Chang, Gil Heitor Cortesão, Sharon Lockhart, Taus Makhacheva, Haroon Mirza, Clifford Ross, Thomas Struth, and Vivek Vilasini.
Executive Director of The NYUAD Art Gallery and University Chief Curator, Maya Allison has described the only constant as an opportunity for the community to engage in a dialogue with the artists who, through their works, speak to different aspects of our fantasies and terrors around landscape: as refuge and paradise, as sustenance, as property, as energy source, as a threat, and as a register of our threat to our own habitat.
UAE audiences will have a unique opportunity to celebrate the upcoming World Environment Day, and a last chance until June 4, from Tuesday through Sunday, 12-8pm, to experience 27 different works that explore the future of landscape.
